Srinivasa Ramanujan is a name of worldwide recognition. The great genius is better known for his wisdom and extraordinary contribution for his work in mathematics. He’s credited for his immense work towards different aspects in mathematics like devising mathematical formulas, infinite series, number theory, and much more.

The interesting point here is that Ramanujan never got any formal education in mathematics. The prime reason why he became genius in the subject is because of his core interest in the subject that helped him made famous across the globe.

Srinivasa Ramanujan birth date is December 22, 1887. He took birth in Tamil Nadu (TN) in a modest family. His early life was spent in extreme poverty. Due to this he couldn’t get his formal education in mathematics. As he had a keen interest towards the subject, it helped him to achieve a huge milestone in his career where he simply failed in other subjects. Due to this, he was even dropped out of his college.

Fame In England

As Ramanujan had a keen interest in mathematics, he decided to take up the subject for research which led him discover hundreds of mathematical formulas. His skills in the subject impressed Professor G.H. Hardy who finally invited him to England.

After this happened, Ramanujan’s life simply took wings which further helped him to uncover several myths and unearthed several mathematical discoveries. All this got him an immense fame worldwide.

 

Studied at Cambridge

His constant struggle and harwork towards the subject helped him achieve new milestones in mathematics. Soon it allowed him to graduate from the prestigious Cambridge University.

It all happened in 1916 when he earned his bachelor’s degree from Trinity College, Cambridge. He also had a chance to excel further and achieved a fellowship from Trinity College in the year 1918. This is how Srinivasan Ramanujan became the first Indian to receive the fellowship.
