Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Gas Cylinder scheme started by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Ashok Gehlot. The scheme was basically started to provide much needed relief to hundreds of poor citizens of the state from inflation.
Under the above scheme, BPL families and those under Ujjwala schemes of Rajasthan are bound to be given gas cylinders worth Rs 500. In order to implement this scheme, an amount of Rs 750 crore has already been approved by the Chief Minister.
Under the Rajasthan Chief Minister Gas Cylinder Scheme, all eligible beneficiaries will automatically receive one gas cylinder per month at cheaper rates. This is done to make their lives affordable.

Rajasthan Mukhyamantari Gas Cylinder Yojana 2023
The Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Gas Cylinder Yojana first launched by the chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot. Under this scheme, poor families of the state will get a gas cylinder every month at cheaper rates. In order to make this scheme successful, the CM has approved a sum of Rs 750 crore under the Rajasthan Mukhyamantari Gas Cylinder Yojana.
From April 2023, poor families will get gas cylinders at a cheaper rate. The launch of this scheme was mainly done to help poor citizens of the state. It’s because the market rates of gas cylinders becomes too costly for them and it is quite hard to get one.
The only limitation of this scheme is that only BPL families and those falling under Ujjwala connection will get the required benefit under this scheme.

Objective of Rajasthan Gas Cylinder Yojana
The Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Gas Cylinder Yojana was mainly started to benefit hundreds of poor families of the Rajasthan state. After looking into the problem of inflation, it was decided by the government to help such families by providing them with one gas cylinder each month at cheaper rates.

To be precise all BPL families will now able to get one gas cylinder at Rs 500. In addition to the above, a subsidy of Rs 610 is bound to be given in the respective bank accounts of Ujjwala connection holders.
It’s estimated that running this scheme will get a financial burden of Rs 750 crore to the government.
Subsidy of Rs 410 will be given per gas cylinder
The Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Gas Cylinder Yojana has another attraction to be mentioned here. Under this scheme, a subsidy of Rs 410 per gas cylinder to families of Ujjwala Yojana, while BPL families will get a subsidy of Rs 610 per gas cylinder.
The scheme has all the transparency as the subsidy amount will directly be transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiary. Due to this, the government has connected their respective bank accounts to Jan Aadhaar card.
The first step towards getting the benefits of the scheme is to get them registered. Once they are registered, they will start getting a gas cylinder of Rs 500 per month.
Over 73 lakh families will be benefited
After the launch of the scheme, it has been estimated that over 73 lakh families of the state will directly get benefit. The scheme will kick start from April 1, 2023 where poor families will be able to get a gas cylinder for Rs 500 each month.
As per an analysis made, three well known gas companies like HPCL, BPCL, and IOCL have over 1 crore 75 lakh 48 thousand gas connections in the state till date. Out of these numbers, around 69 lakh 20 thousand connections fall under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
The total number of BPL (Below Poverty Line) families who have live gas connections under the scheme is more than 3 lakh 80 thousand.
Once the Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Gas Cylinder Yojana gets activated in the month of April, the beneficiaries will start getting all the benefits along with the transfer of subsidy directly to their bank accounts.
For example, a subsidy of Rs 610 to BPL connection holders and Rs 410 to Ujjwala connections will be directly transferred to their bank accounts.
Full money will to be paid at the time of getting the cylinder
Please note that BPL and Ujjwala connection holders will have to pay the entire amount at the time of purchasing it. It means they need to pay Rs 1,106 for a gas cylinder. After they pay the actual amount, they will receive a subsidy of Rs 610 per gas cylinder each month to their bank accounts.
To be precise, a subsidy of Rs 610 will be given to all BPL families while a subsidy of Rs 410 will be given to Ujjwala connection holders. It’s because they are already being given a benefit of RS 200 directly from the central government.
Bank account to be linked to Jan Aadhaar card
To grab the benefit under Rajasthan Chief Minister Gas Cylinder Scheme, all beneficiaries will need to link their bank accounts with Jan Aadhaar card.
If you don’t link the two, you won’t be able to receive the subsidy amount to your bank account. In order to avail cash subsidy, it is mandatory to link your bank account with Jan Aadhaar card.
