Nekar Samman Yojana Karnataka: This new state government scheme is for handloom weavers. It has been recently launched by the state government of Karnataka.

Karnataka Nekar Samman Yojana 2023
BS Yediyurappa, who’s the Chief Minister (CM) of Karnataka actually launched this new scheme called Nekar Samman Yojana. It’s basically all about annual monetary benefit of handloom weavers of the state.
The financial aid which will be provided to hundreds of handloom weavers is proposed after looking at their post COVID condition. In order to help their poor conditions, Handloom and Textiles Department decided to distribute a financial help of Rs 2,000 to them.

Implementation of Nekar Samman Yojana
If you look at the poor condition of handloom weavers in the state, you will come to know that there are a total of 54,786 enlisted handloom weavers at present. They are found engaged in different activities like fleece lingers, cotton, silk, and other similar exercises.
As per this scheme, up to 19,744 handloom weavers are going to receive an amount (financial aid) of Rs 2,000 directly to their accounts. By giving this financial assistance to handloom weavers, the government will make expense of Rs 10.96 crore.
The scheme is looking so beneficial that 40,634 handloom weavers have already enrolled to the Seva Sindhu entryway.
Karnataka Nekar Samman Yojana Benefits

- As many as 19,744 handloom weavers will get a financial aid of Rs 2,000 through DBT
- The Karnataka government has already allocated Rs 10.96 crore
- A total of 40,634 handloom weavers have registered for Seva Sindhu software

- Handloom weavers who are eligible will get the financial assistance under Weavers Sammaan Yojana
Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Nekar Samman Yojana
- You need to follow the below mentioned eligibility criteria to apply for Nekar Samman Yojana:
- You need to be a permanent resident of the Karnataka state
- You must be a Handloom Weaver by profession
- Those who are engaged in woolen, cotton and silk handloom won’t be eligible
