The Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme was first started by the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren. The scheme was launched primarily to help all the 226 blocks of 22 districts of the state declared drought by the government on October 29.
In such a scenario where the state falls under severe drought condition, a sum of Rs.3500 is provided to the farmer family. And so, the amount was given to the affected families of 226 blocks of 22 districts under the Mukhyamantri Sukhad Rahat Yojana.
The amount will soon get transferred to the affected farmer families of the state digitally. The scheme had to be launched by the government as the drought affected over 30 lakh farmer families.
Farmers need to apply online under the Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme to get the required benefit. After they apply online, the disaster management authority wil finally approve the application and send it to DBT.

Objective of Mukhymantri Sukhad Rahat Yojana
The core objective of the Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme is to provide immediate relief to the drought affected families of farmers. Under this scheme, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr. Hemant Soren will provide financial assistance to lakhs of farmer families who have got directly affected to a severe drought.
In order to help farmers, the state government of Jharkhand has demanded a financial aid from the central government. It’s mainly to help farmers affected by drought.

As per the agricultural minister Badal Patralekh, the state government will provide all the necessary help to farmers who are directly affected with drought in the state.
Under the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme, the government has already submitted a memorandum of finance to the central government regarding financial assistance.
The state government will seek a sum of Rs 9682 crores from the central government under the Memorandum of Finance. Under this memorandum, every farmer family affected due to drought will be given a financial aid.
